Pulsar 19: Find What You Need Faster in the Field
July 28, 2026

Field work rarely follows a straight path. A technician starts the day by checking today’s appointments, identifies the equipment that needs service, and works through detailed procedures before moving on to the next job. Every extra tap, screen, search, or connectivity issue slows that process down.
Pulsar 19 focuses on reducing those interruptions. This release helps users access the information they need faster, whether they’re viewing today’s schedule from an iPhone widget, understanding where an asset fits within a larger installation, or moving quickly through a complex work plan, even while disconnected from the network. If your team relies on Salesforce Field Service in the field, these updates help keep the work moving.
Critical Notes
Salesforce Field Service users must install the latest Pulsar FSL file to maintain compatibility.
What’s New in Pulsar Release 19?
Pulsar Release 19 includes many updates, including:
- A new IOS Widget for quick and direct access to the day’s appointments
- Asset hierarchy view improvements to display essential data on a single screen
- Work plan navigation improvements to streamline user experience
For a complete list of updates for this release, read the Pulsar 19.0 release notes.
New Widget – Start the Day with Your Schedule
One of the first questions every field technician asks is simple: What’s next?
Pulsar 19 introduces the first iOS Widget for Pulsar, giving Salesforce Field Service users quick access to today’s Service Appointments without opening the application.
The widget displays the technician’s upcoming appointments directly from the Home Screen. Every synchronization and a periodic background refresh keep the schedule up to date throughout the day. Users can quickly see up to two appointments, with an indicator showing when additional appointments are scheduled.
If there are no remaining appointments, the widget clearly communicates that the day’s work is complete. If the organization isn’t configured for Salesforce Field Service or the widget hasn’t been enabled, users receive helpful guidance instead of an empty screen.

Instead of opening the app simply to check what’s next, technicians can see today’s schedule with a quick glance. Learn more about the new Widget for Pulsar.
Asset Hierarchy Improvements – Understand Equipment Before You Arrive
Finding the correct asset is only part of the job. Understanding how that asset fits into a larger installation often determines how quickly work gets completed.
Pulsar 19 introduces an improved Asset Hierarchy view, allowing technicians to visualize parent-child relationships directly in the mobile application. Rather than piecing together equipment relationships from multiple records, users can quickly understand how assets connect.
For organizations that maintain complex equipment, production lines, utilities, or facilities, this provides valuable context before work begins. Technicians spend less time searching through related records and more time diagnosing the right equipment.
Whether replacing a component, performing preventive maintenance, or investigating a service issue, having the asset hierarchy views available in the field helps users make better decisions with the information already stored in Salesforce – even while on-site and offline.

Work Plan Navigation – Move Through Complex Work Plans Faster
Many service organizations rely on Salesforce Work Plans to guide technicians through inspections, maintenance procedures, and regulatory checklists. As those procedures become longer and include branching logic, moving between steps can become just as important as completing them.
Pulsar 19 introduces two navigation improvements that make large Work Plans easier to use.
Users can now jump directly to another step using a new dropdown step selector, eliminating the need to repeatedly move forward or backward through the plan.

For technicians progressing through a procedure in order, new Previous and Next navigation arrows provide a faster way to move between steps.

These updates reduce the number of taps required to complete inspections and maintenance activities, making it much easier to revisit earlier steps or continue after interruptions. The result is a Work Plan experience that keeps technicians focused on completing the work instead of navigating the interface. Learn more about enabling Work Plans in Pulsar.
Built for the Way Field Teams Work
Every improvement in Pulsar 19 has a common goal: to reduce the time it takes to find information.
Technicians can check today’s appointments before opening the app, understand equipment relationships while standing in front of an asset, and move through detailed service procedures with fewer interruptions.
These aren’t isolated features. Together, they support the natural flow of a technician’s day and help teams get more value from Salesforce Field Service while continuing to benefit from Pulsar’s offline access to Salesforce.
With Pulsar 19, explore these new capabilities and see how they fit into your mobile workflows.
Pulsar Release 19 is available now. As always, SFS users should update to the new Pulsar FSL file.
